Make A Difference at TECCS
TECCS families are an essential component of the School's success. Your contribution of time and skills makes our school unique and adds to the quality of the environment in which all of our children learn. There are numerous opportunities for families to get involved. Below is a list and brief description of some of the needs you can help meet as a TECCS parent, family member, or interested community member. Kids love it when they see a parent or loved one helping during lunchtime!
Whether your child eats school lunch or brings lunch from home, we need your help. Lunch volunteers not only serve lunch, but assist and help clean up after all the children. This assistance allows the children to have adequate time to eat and enjoy recess.
We require two volunteers daily from 11:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. and there is no experience needed! If you can only do half the shift on your lunch hour that’s fine too. Just let us know.

Our technology team helps to maintain the School's technology infrastructure, including network connectivity, workstations, security, software, and web applications technologies. Much of the School's technology backbone is deployed using open source technologies. If you can support TECCS by contributing time and expertise in any of these areas, we want to hear from you! The Familiy School Association (FSA) meets regularly to discuss ways of improving and enhancing the School. The FSA also sponsors several events during the course of the school year that rely on volunteers. For example, Kids' Night Out, the Fall and Winter Festivals and the Scholastic Book Fairs are all events that provide students with a sense of the community in which they and the school belong and promote the School's values through emphasis on skills such as reading and positive peer relationships.

Families are always welcome participants in the learning environment at TECCS. Each classroom chooses one or more "class mothers" each year to facilitate volunteering opportunities in the classroom. In addition, teachers encourage families to participate in reading to students during the school day, educating students about community and service-oriented careers, and assisting with classroom parties and events.
